Waiver and Release of Liability

Name of Company: Sheridan Haire, carrying on business as Pages and Pause (collectively referred to as “Pages and Pause”)​

Event/Location: Women's Wellness Retreat, Innisfil, (referred to herein as the “retreat”)
Date(s): October 3-5, 2025

​1. Acknowledgment of Responsibility

I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge and agree that I am expected to treat the facilities, accommodations, and all property provided by Pages and Pause with the same care and respect as an owner would. I accept full responsibility for any damage to the facilities, accommodations, or property caused by my actions, whether intentional or accidental, and agree to reimburse Pages and Pause for the cost of repair or replacement.

2. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participation in activities offered during the retreat—including but not limited to kayaking, swimming, hiking, and other recreational activities—as well as all travel or transportation provided by Pages and Pause, involves inherent risks, including the risk of personal injury, death, or property damage. I voluntarily assume all such risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, and accept full responsibility for my participation and for any travel or transportation arranged or provided by Pages and Pause.

3. Alcohol Consumption

If alcohol is provided or made available during the retreat, I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my own consumption and behaviour. I agree to consume alcohol responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws. I hereby waive any and all claims against Pages and Pause, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers arising from or related to the provision of alcohol, including any injury, loss, or damage resulting from my consumption of alcohol or the actions of others who may consume alcohol.

4. Waiver and Release of Liability      

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the retreat, to use the facilities and accommodations, to engage in any activities organized or made available by Pages and Pause, and to utilize any travel or transportation provided by Pages and Pause, I, for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby fully and forever waive, release, and discharge Sheridan Haire and Pages and Pause, its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, affiliates, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or liabilities of any kind whatsoever, whether in law or in equity, whether known or unknown, which I may have or may hereafter accrue to me, arising out of or in any way related to my attendance at or participation in the retreat, including but not limited to:

• Any injury (including personal injury, illness, or death) sustained by me while participating in any retreat activities, using the facilities or accommodations, or during travel or transportation provided by Pages and Pause;

• Any loss, theft, or damage to my personal property;

• Any acts or omissions, whether negligent or otherwise, of the Released Parties or of other participants;

• Any risks associated with the consumption of alcohol, participation in water or outdoor activities, or use of equipment provided by Pages and Pause.

This waiver and release applies to all claims for damages or losses, whether arising from ordinary negligence, breach of contract, or any other legal theory, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of Pages and Pause or the Released Parties.

I understand and agree that this waiver and release is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the Province of Ontario, and that if any portion is held invalid, the remainder will continue in full legal force and effect.

5. Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pages and Pause from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action brought against them as a result of my actions or omissions during the retreat, including any damage to property or injury to others.

6. Personal Property

I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for any personal property I bring to the retreat and that Pages and Pause is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to my personal belongings.

7. Acknowledgment and Understanding

I confirm that I have read and understood this waiver and release of liability, and that I am signing it voluntarily. I understand that by signing this document, I may be waiving certain legal rights, including the right to sue.
